My cosmos plant has finally started blooming. The color is so delicate.
Had a busy day at work today, but really feel like I accomplished something. After only three weeks, I can pretty much do all the cakes that we decorate at Wal-Mart. I haven't done any really fancy ones yet, but I did do one with roses and rose buds this afternoon that turned out really nice. I sprayed the cake pink, then piped a strip of red color down the side of my icing bag before I added the white icing, so the roses were white on the outside edges, fading to dark pink in the center. Very pretty, if I may say so myself! I also sprayed a couple of "kit" cakes that turned out pretty cute, too. I love to work with the air brush sprayer. I'm going to have to try making a "plaid" cake that way. Should be cool!
It started raining here on my way home tonight. We had gotten a heavy shower just before I got home, but it was just sprinkling when I pulled into the garage.
I'm home Thursday and Friday, but I have a table runner to make, so I won't be sitting around!
Our daughter from Houston left for Tulsa, OK this morning. She stayed in Williamsburg during their Cat 3 storm several years ago, but she has two kids now, so she's heading out. Her hubby is staying behind to hold the fort. He runs a bottling plant for AB, so he has to be the captain of the ship. My hubby wants to check in with her, so I've got to get off the phone She has never driven that far with the girls before. Thank goodness for cell phones!

I just called my Dad down in Edenburg to see what the hurican was doing and if San Antonio would be ok by Sunday night when I get there. He seemed to think all would be well. Hope your daughter and the girls are safe and sound.

It looks pretty rough on TV. We haven't talked to him, but we did call our daughter. It was raining in Tulsa. She was ready to head for home, but I hope she waits a day or two. They live in a new subdivision that only had one big, old tree, and they were taking it down the day she left. All the houses there are built several feet higher than the street, so I hope she didn't have any flooding. She doesn't have a basement, so she doesn't have to worry about that.
