I went out early this morning with my camera because the dogs weren't around, and I wanted to explore the white streak in the wood pile. It had rained last night, and most of the logs are wet, but there was this one streak that was dry. But instead of adding interest to the photo, I think it just distracts from the diagonal line between the two shapes. All the grass clippings are also a distraction.
I did a lot of paperwork today, and took care of some shopping. I have several birthdays and a wedding coming up soon, and I got a book ordered for Xmas, too. I also checked oil and tire pressure in the tires on my car, and cleaned the inside of the front windshield. I got one of those new things that they advertize on TV, but I bought mine at Wal-Mart. It really doesn't make it easy to reach into the deep corners. Then I took the bonnet off and used it to wipe the dust off the dash and instrument panel. That worked good, too. No streaks. I won't know for sure how clean the windshield is until the next cool morning. But I'm hopeful. I hate a dirty windshield. May give it a try on some of my big mirrors and windows that are hard to reach. I'll keep you posted.
I want to finish making a top for my granddaughter tonight. I order some new quilt fabric today, so I'm going to have to start being more creative.

Hope you didn't use Windex, it's a crappy cleaner. Better results are obtained from a water-vinegar solution and been better diluted denatured alcohol. There's also a can spray for mirrors and windows from the hardware store that I used when I was cleaning professionally … it is *excellent* … no streaking. Wish I could remember the maker … *might* be Zep but I'll have to stop and check next time I pass the hardware store. BTW, any product by Zep is superior.
When I owned a car – a trillion years ago (last century) – I used to use vinegar and newspaper to clean the windscreen. I am just about through birthdays for the year thank goodness – just my son's now on Dec 29th.
I have some window wipes that work good. It is just such a struggle to reach down to the very front edge of the windshield. This tool works with a little plain water. Can't get any cheaper than that!
Vinegar and water does work good to clean glass. The problem with the windshield on my car is that it slopes so far down in front that it is almost impossible to reach. My arms aren't long enough to reach over the steering wheel to the front edge of the windshield.
You can reach the lowest windshield edges if you approach from the sides (rather than up and over the wheel).
I hadn't thought about doing it that way. I'm always trying to reach from behind the wheel. It was still streaky this morning, so I tried again tonight. If it isn't much better, I'm going to look for alcohol wipes or spray.
I so agree about the light wood in the pile…I liked your first photos the best.
For cleaning the inside of the car windows a plain clean towel works the best…no cleaner.
I think I may have gotten the inside of my windshield clean, finally. About four miles after I left the house this morning, I turned to the east so the sun was shining directly into the window. I gave it a couple of more swipes with my new cleaning gadget, and it seems to be good. Time will tell.
Isn't that interesting about the wood pile. I thought the contrast of the wet wood and the dry wood would be interesting, but it was just distracting.
