Winter Haiku

Winter

Freezing cold wind blows

Chilling the body to the bone

It must be winter.

Thanks to Barefoot Blogger for the information about haiku.  I really like the challenge of distilling a thought to the bare essence. This one went through so many tranfomations that is it far removed from where I started.  It is a good exercise for my brain while I am waiting for my slow internet connection!

  1. Try again!
    Three lines.
    1st line – 5 syllables
    2nd line – 7 syllables
    3rd line – 5 syllables

  2. Haiku traditionally don’t have titles. Are you certain about the syllable count of the second line (“Chilling the …”)?
