No quilting today

Today wasn’t your typical Monday around here.  Got up and left in time to get to work at 8:00 knowing full well that I would have to leave sometime during the day.  My hubby, who has trouble eating because his esophagus doesn’t work right, hadn’t been able to eat or drink anything since Saturday morning.  He was getting dehydrated, so we knew he was going to end up in the hospital soon rather than later but he wanted to check with his doctor instead of just showing up at the emergency room.

Left work at 11:00, got to ER a little after noon, and finally got home tonight about 10:30.  Long day!  They washed out his esophagus, took a couple of biopsies, and gave him a Botox shot.  He’s had all this done several times before, but this time was more painful.  He could have come home after the procedure, but was feeling so bad that they admitted him for observation.  A couple of cc’s of morphine later, he was feeling much better but still worn out from the stress and procedure.  So I stayed with him until 9:00 then headed for home.

I tried to get the furnace going, but I don’t think it worked.  I’ll try once more then I’ll just  snuggle under the covers until morning.

I did sell a couple of items on Etsy today, so it wasn’t a bad day in that respect. Now I’d better get to bed so I can get up in time to get packages ready to be mailed before the mailman comes.
